Plus Size Interview Clothing Donations
You know how nerve racking it is to be interviewed. Imagine the extra anxiety of having to worry about what you are wearing. If you are out of work and on a budget buying the right clothes to make a good impression can be almost next to impossible.
An organization called Dress for Success helps women like us help other women in their job searches by coordinating your new or nearly new career appropriate suits and separates to women in need.
According to their official website, Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization that assists low-income women transitioning from unemployment to self-sufficiency, starting with the donation of one suit and continuing with ongoing support and career development. Women are referred by a diverse group of non-profit organizations, including social services agencies, domestic violence shelters and employment training programs.
Not surprisingly, approximately 65% of the women helped by the Dress for Success program wear a size 14 or larger, and they are always in need of new or nearly new interview appropriate clothing donations in larger sizes.
You can check out their website for information on Dress for Success affiliates near you to donate clothing as well as learn about volunteer opportunities. If you are job hunting you can learn interview tips like, what to do the day before the interview, what to do the night before the interview, what to do the day of the interview and other important do’s and don’ts for securing employment.
Don’t delay. Take a look in your closet today, it’s time you cleaned it out anyway, there may be an excellent suit just hanging there inactive and waiting for you to put it to good use.
