Figuring Out Your Time Zone

Book-in-a-week challenges work on the Eastern Standard Time Zone. If you don’t live in that time zone please use one of the following resources to help you find out your start time.

  • The Official US Time Zone – This is a nifty visual time zone locater by the United States: a Department of Commerce agency, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and its military counterpart, the U. S. Naval Observatory (USNO). You can click on your state to see what time zone you’re in and then click on the right hand states which are EST to see what time it is. It is current time.
  • The World Clock – Here is a listing of major cities around the world in real time. Find the one closest to you and compare it to Toronto time.
  • World Time Zone – I think this one is a little more complicated but if you want a world map view this shows current time using a 24 hour clock.
  • What time is it right now in Ontario? (Check here to see what time it is in EST time right now.)

There is an EST date and time clock on the BIW website (right sidebar) and on each challenge page.
