Kangaroo Keeper Review
Rooting around in my handbag to try and find my lipstick, keys, and wallet is so frustrating. I bought a Kangaroo Keeper to help me organize my “crap”. I mean my absolutely necessary items that I must lug around with me every single day. Here’s my review:
Here is my slouchy handbag. This is pretty much my every day purse. The pink tag on the end is my Moo cards holder.
My biggest complaint is that I can never find anything quickly enough. Pens, keys, notepad, lip gloss; you know, the little things that I use often. When I am in a hurry sometimes it is even hard to find the bigger things.
Surfing TV and the Internet
One night while I was flipping through late night television, I came across one of the many purse organizers out there. I decided to go on an eBay search to see what I could find. Many of the TV advertised purse organizers can be found on eBay at less the cost than ordering from the company (especially if you take into account shipping costs). That being said, it is still necessary to shop around eBay because most of the sellers have different prices and shipping. After a few nights of searching/deliberating I decided on the Kangaroo Keeper.
The Kangaroo Keeper Organizer
I purchased my Kangaroo Keeper purse organizer from the Big Tree Company for $7.99 (US) and $4 international shipping. It sells for $19.99 plus postage and handling ($6 per set) for two sets from the official website. The eBay Keepers came from Shanghai, China. They took almost four weeks to arrive but I was not in a super hurry. The box was a little damaged but the contents were free from harm.
Reversible Organizers
The Kangaroo Keeper’s tag line is “the incredible bag organizer”. It comes with two organizers actually. A large one and a small one. They can be used together for the ultimate in organizing extravaganza. Or you can use them separately, one for a big bag and one for a small one. They can be used inside out or right side in, too. Here is what mine look like empty. The large one has the pockets turned out and the smaller one has the pockets turned in:
The material feels like a heavy weight plastic that has a bit of stretch to it. But not a lot, because a seam started to rip when I tried to put an oversized item in a pouch. It was fun loading up everything into the pouches and I found myself feeling excited that everything would be organized. As you can see I decided to try out using both pouches, one in side the other.
One Pouch or Two
I have been using them for a few weeks and still have lots of room to spare. I think I will eventually go down to the one large pouch as I really do not have a lot of stuff in my bag. This will free up room to put all my foldable “shopping” bags together. Everything is definitely organized and easier to find. But for some reason, my bag feels a bit heavier. Even though there is little extra weight created by the pouches, it must be psychosomatic. It definitely changes the shape of my bag which is now less slouchy but that is not a bad thing.
Even though no one but me (and now you) really sees it, I don’t think the Kangaroo Keeper is the prettiest bag organizer available. For the first time trying one, I am happy with it and am glad I did not have to spend a bunch of money to try it. And two inserts really are enough.
