The Ultimate Bra Liner Test
I have been using bra liners, especially in the summer and during workouts, for over a year now. I was first introduced to them by the owner of Pambras when she asked me to review her product. This has been one of my favorite products ever since. But it’s time to put them through the ultimate bra liner test.
What are Bra Liners
If you are not familiar with bra liners, basically it is a strip of material that is inserted under the bra band at the breasts and the sides. It has a few functions: protecting your bra and your skin from excess moisture (uh, sweat), providing comfort against underwire or itchy lace.
Heat and Humidity
The last few weeks I have been using the Pambras bra liners like crazy because it is very hot and humid here this time of year and I have had a lot of yard work that needed doing; namely, I am moving many wheel barrows of soil and mulch — so heavy stuff. Work your ass off stuff! At the end of the day Pambras has been a blessing against skin breakdown which can often happen when sensitive skin sits in wet material all day. Since I am using them so much I decided to order more.
Comparison
While I was at Kathy’s Curvy Corner (still the best place to buy Pambras in terms of price and shipping) I noticed they also offer Wick’Em bra liners in bamboo. I love bamboo fabric so even though they were more expensive, $19 for one bra liner, as opposed to $16 for a package of 3 for Pambras I decided to bite the bullet and try it.

What a mistake! I am sure Wick’ems bamboo bra liners are probably great for every day comfort but for the real test of sweating during yard work it was a complete fail. I felt like I had a soaked piece of fabric sitting under my boobs. And I did. The fabric did not wick any moisture away from my skin like I feel the Pambras do.
Opinion Hasn’t Changed
While the Pambras bra liner does feel damp when removed when in situ it felt nothing like the wetness of the Wick’em bamboo brand. The Wick’em bamboo material is definitely soft to touch but that is all I can say about them. One of the end pieces had even come out from under the bra by the end of the day. The Pambras are definitely not as plush and have a different configuration but I definitely felt dryer wearing them and I have never had a problem with the ends coming out.
Now that I know this I will keep the Wick’Em bamboo bra liner for every day relaxing after the shower and the Pambras will be used for outings and any general labor where lots of sweating will be involved.
Read my original review of Pambras.
Hi
I read your article about Wick’em and wanted you to know that the Bamboo Wick’em was designed for Comfort for women with serious breast condition like Cancer, post surgery, sore, rashes, it was to help make it possible for them to wear there bra. Sweating was not what we had in mind for the Bamboo Wick’em even though some women choose to wear it for that.
I hope you consider rewriting your article please read my testimonial see for your self why women are wearing the Bamboo http://www.braliner.com
I embrace Pambra, BraMate, Girlease because they help me let women know that their is something out their for them, I was one of those women with a serious breast issue and I know that the more women have to choose from the odds are they will find a solution.
Have a wonderful day

Hi Donna,
Thank you for your comment. No I will not consider rewriting my article although I did insert “bamboo” in a few more places to differentiate what was used — my review still stands true. I noted that Wick’ems were probably “great for every day comfort”. I compared the two for the conditions they were used. I still continue to use the Wick’em bamboo liner but the Pambras still stays in place better while the end pieces of the Wick-em still need to be adjusted throughout the day. As I said in my review, the Wick’Em bamboo bra liner will continue to get used for every day relaxing and after the shower and the Pambras will be used for outings and any general labor where lots of sweating will be involved. I gave an honest and accurate review of both products and now women really know that the bamboo liner cannot be worn under strenuous conditions.
Best wishes,
Moe

I find Pambra to be great way of feeling dry compared to Wick’Em bra liners. They stayed put in my bra where I placed it, the other did not. I kept feeling like the Wick’Em bra liners was going to fall out. I personal would not recomend that one to any body. The only thing I liked about in was it was soft. An I live in AV where are summeres can get up into the 110’s. The Pambra work great and stay in place.
I meant I live in AZ.
