Continue On Saturdays Writing Prompt

The gist of it is simple. I give you the start of a line/story and you continue on. This week:

It was nearly 6 a.m. and Margie Logan’s fifteen-year-old son Morgan was not asleep in his bed; a place he would snore in til at least noon on a Saturday. His bed hadn’t looked slept in since she made it for him yesterday. Just one of the many things she had grown tired of doing. She walked over to the answering machine to check for the blinking light again, not finding anything she pressed play just in case the lightbulb was somehow burnt out. “You have no new messages” echoed into the kitchen. While she tried to think what to do next she picked at a hang nail on your left thumb until the pain made her stop. “I guess I will have to…
