Pixie Mood Handbag Review

The “animal friendly company” Pixie Mood contacted me a few weeks ago to review one of the handbags from their Fall and Winter line. They sent me the adorable Steph Bag in blue. As you can see this color blocked satchel also has a spot of orange and ivory with a bright purple interior. The Steph bag is available in six other color combinations. The purse came along with a grey storage bag. The little monkey you see is actually not a part of the purse but the company mascot.

One of the first things I noticed was the neat stitching and soft leather-like texture.

I like quite a few things about this handbag. First the obvious features on the outside — being able to carry it by a handle or use the adjustable cross body strap. It definitely makes carrying a handbag around while doing day to day tasks easier.

I am quite impressed with the leather-look texture of the bag. It has some shiny metal detailing for the buckles on the straps and for the flap closure.

When I originally unpacked the bag I was actually worried that the twist clasp would not hold up to the day to day use; not to mention the weight of the items my bag.

When the bag is held by the handle a lot of the weight of the bag is pulled against the the twist closure knob. Over the last few weeks I have not noticed any of the wear and tear I expected and everything still looks in its place and sturdy.

On the inside, I love the contrast of the bright purple lining and that the purse is divided into two main compartments with the traditional zipper pouch on the back, a zipper pouch dividing the middle of the bag and a few slide in organizing pockets on the front. The down side of the whole bag is the quality of the fabric. It seems to be a low thread count and as you can see a bit see through where the back zipper is.

For a 31cm x 25cm x 10.5cm bag it is surprisingly roomy. I fit in all the stuff that was in my larger summer bag including my Kangeroo organizer pouch.
The Steph Handbag filled with my lady things.
It has been about three weeks of use since I filled up the Pixie Mood Steph bag with my stuff and it has held up well to my abuse. I am quite happy with the overall function of the bag and still think it is darn cute.

Tolerance
"No matter in what situations we find ourselves, when we don’t have so many opinions and preferences we naturally experience more peace of mind. We feel more agreeable, more comfortable, and more able to fit in with others. When we are more tolerant, not only do our minds’ stability and experience of meditation improve, but the conduct of our body, speech, and mind also improves because we stop being so reactive."
