This is a strange time of year for me, I always feel like I am in limbo waiting for Christmas to be over and the New Year to begin. I have not really been a fan of the holidays since I was a kid. I know I have a lot of things I should be thankful for in my personal life but this is a shopping blog so I thought I would share ten things I am thankful for this past year, keeping on theme, in no particular order:
- Shopping online is easier than ever. Thank you PayPal.
- It has been a great year for color blocking.
- Hi-low tops have been perfect for those of us taller women tired of showing off our lower backs (or our butts — thinking of hi-low dresses) when we extend or bend.
- Polka Dot love has been at an all time high!
- Followed closely by stripes of all kinds.
- Sequins have become acceptable for day or night as well as dressy or casual.
- Wide calf boots are now found at some of our specialty clothing stores.
- The sheer number of plus size women that have come to the Internet to share their fashion ups and downs and everything in between astounds me. When I first started out eight years ago I could count on my fingers and maybe a few toes the dedicated PS bloggers out there. Now I cannot keep up with everyone which I guess is a good thing and a bad thing — cause I am missing so many still.
- The media featured more plus size models, stylists, and bloggers and most were able to keep their clothes on.
- While the exchange rate has not been my friend this year I love the choice of being able to shop in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and elsewhere. This year has been exceptional for cross border shopping.
What are you thankful for this past year?
