Nicola is a Pshychologist from Australia in her mid-twenties. She has been blogging about Aussie plus size fashion for three years at 2 Many Cupcakes but recently took a self-discovery break. She plans to relaunch her blog again this year.
What is your greatest concern about online shopping?
I have two main frustrations with online shopping. The first is inconsistent sizing. I wish all shops in all countries had to make clothes to the same measurements. I know that this is ridiculous and impractical but a girl can dream. The other is the cost of shipping to Australia. Sometimes the shipping costs more than the items!
What is your greatest concern about shopping locally?
I live in a fairly small town so finding clothes in my size that I like is practically impossible.
What is your favorite store to shop locally?
My fave store locally is the Australian version of Target. They are currently improving their plus size range and I think I own all their PJ pants!
What are your top three online stores to shop?
ASOS — I love that it’s fast fashion in plus sizes. Cheap prices and quick delivery for the win!
City Chic — An Australian start up company that is constantly honing its brand. I always find something I want. I love Thursday when the new ranges are released online.
Hell Bunny — Hell Bunny is actually a brand rather than a store. They make gorgeous 50’s style dresses up to a 4X. Some sizes have shirring so can go even larger. They only wholesale so often the best way to find a good deal is to look up Hell Bunny on ebay or google for the supplies. I joined a buy/swap/sell group this year and I seem to constantly have their dresses in the mail.
Your shopping weakness?
Dresses. If I send my friend a link to a dress these days she just writes back, “Nicola. No.”

I’m really into the retro 50’s look at the moment. I find the aesthetic so pleasing and very suitable to my figure.
Three things your blog readers might not know about you are:
- I can play the tuba and am a bit obsessed with brass brand music.
- If I don’t leave the house then I tend not to get out of my PJ’s.
- I hate mangoes and pineapples.
