What is your greatest concern about online shopping? Like everyone else, fit is a big concern. I don’t waste my time buying items that don’t come with details around fit. Quality of fabric is a secondary concern – it’s always a let down to receive something that doesn’t hold up as well as expected.
What is your greatest concern about shopping locally? My greatest concern about shopping locally is the variety of what’s available. I’m an advocate of supporting plus size designers/retailers with my $$ – when shopping locally, it can be easy to get into a rut of buying from the same retailers and not branching out enough.
What is your favorite store to shop locally? There’s a terrific store in my neighborhood called Corset Styling. I love that place because their stylists are fantastic (and their expert advice is free!). They stock sizes 2 to 22, and will pull in larger sizes with advance notice. They also carry a mix of my favorite brands with brands that are new to me.
What are your top three online stores to shop?
Sealed with a Kiss Designs — I really like SWAK because their sizing charts are incredibly accurate. I always feel confident that the size I order is going to fit. I like SWAK for casual clothes that are versatile – their tops look great worn loose or belted for a little extra shape.
Kiyonna — Kiyonna is my go-to spot for my work wardrobe. The quality of their clothes is absolutely worth the price point, and they really know how to dress a curvy body.
City Chic Online — I love City Chic for trendy pieces – their sale section is always packed with really fun pieces at reasonable prices. The quality of City Chic clothes is also really impressive. Some of my most fun (and best loved) items are from this store.
Your shopping weakness? Coats. I live in Minnesota – we wear winter coats six months of the year, so I have more coats than the average woman.
Fave color: Purple.
Fave trend: Peplum.
Three things your blog readers might not know about you are:
- I write fiction eBooks that feature plus size characters.
- I love to cook – meatloaf is my specialty.
- I have a terrible sense of direction – GPS devices were made for people like me.
