Aubergine Phoebe Cardigan Review

I know they are little things but sometimes it is the little things that show a retailer actually cares about their garments. Like having the brand tag safety pinned to an inner tag instead of pinned through the garment with one of those plastic tag spears. Or having the product arrive on a hanger in an inexpensive sheer garment bag — all ready to hang and store — even if it is only a cardigan.
Igigi sent me their Aubergine Phoebe Cardigan to review this month and from the moment I opened up the parcel I was in love from the presentation down to the actual garment. This shawl collar sweater is made from Poly/Viscose/Elastane Knit and is super soft to the touch.

A note about photos — The image above depicts the actual color. I am showing this next photo more for vanity reasons to show that I am not as pasty as the following photos show. I just figured out that the white wall reflecting back at me has caused my skin to look incredibly blown out even with a bit of photo adjustment. I did not want to delay this review any further by waiting to take more photos.

It is the perfect weight for fall whether it is worn over another top or alone (yes, it wraps perfectly around so it can be worn alone without sharing all your cleavage.

You know how I like my power purple and the dark purple almost eggplant color definitely fits the bill. It is a versatile style that looks great with jeans or with career pants. For me the only real down side was the “Dry Clean or Hand Wash in Cold Water” product care instructions.

This cardigan comes with an extra long sash that can be wrapped around twice. There are no pesky belt loops to worry about so the sweater can be worn without the matching belt or if you are into the whole belting trend you can pull one of the narrow belts from your closet to wear over top of it.

Igigi products have always been well made and the Phoebe cardigan is no different with its pristine stitching.

Here is a better look at the knit fabric. The wider knit on the bottom is from the shawl collar which is double thickness. On top of that is the sleeve which is a finer knit but not see through like summer knit. And on top of that is the sash which is also doubled over for thickness and stability — as you can see it is a couple inches wide.

The Phoebe sweater is definitely a winner for fall whether you choose the aubergine, mocha or black.

This review is so helpful, thanks for the pics. I really like the sash/belt style of this cardigan.

Tolerance
"No matter in what situations we find ourselves, when we don’t have so many opinions and preferences we naturally experience more peace of mind. We feel more agreeable, more comfortable, and more able to fit in with others. When we are more tolerant, not only do our minds’ stability and experience of meditation improve, but the conduct of our body, speech, and mind also improves because we stop being so reactive."
