Last summer Yoek sent me this great polka dot tunic to review so when they asked me to review something from their winter line I was pretty stoked about it. I chose this Eyelet Lace Cardigan because I love the color, shawl collar and ruffle hem — one of the best things about winter is sweaters and cardigans!
I wish the site had shown a back view on a person because I probably would not have chosen it. I love everything about this cardigan except what is going on in the back. Take a look at the seam going from one armpit to the other.
It looks like the arms and back were knitted in a circle.
There is a weird pulling at the seam across the back and it is actually awkward to get my arms out of it. It does not feel tight anywhere else.
It continues to make these weird creases under the arms (they are a bit washed out in photo).
Yoek was really generous with the fabric in this cardigan making it extra cozy feeling.
The lace pattern is really unusual. It is a surprisingly warm cardigan considering all the holes.
I love the fabric, length, ruffle hem and shawl collar on this plus size cardigan but the one design flaw really throws off the comfort. Perhaps a size up would help with the back seam but then it would be too sloppy everywhere else.
Yoek (The Netherlands) is a company to keep an “eye” on as they have interesting styles and a good size range to choose from. With the exchange rate you can expect to pay more so consider what you buy to be an investment piece. This lace cardigan is currently listed in the sale section at €60 (Euro) which converts to approximately $79. Their sizes range from S (8) to 2x (24/26) and “plus” size (28/30). Their shipping rates have come down to €15 (US/Can), about $19 converted, since my last review which is a good sign.
