What is your greatest concern about online shopping?
When I am trying new brands, there’s a bit of guesswork when it comes to what size to get and how it will be cut. I have clothes that range from a size 22 to 30, and it takes awhile for me to learn which items run large or small. Knowing my body shape really well has allowed me to make smarter purchases online.
What is your greatest concern about shopping locally?
I only have a couple of stores that I can shop locally, and all too often my size is sold out, especially since I wear the largest size they offer. Torrid tends to not carry their size 5 or size 28 items in store, and Lane Bryant sells them quickly. I’d love to go with complete confidence that I will find my size, but it just does not happen. I’ve learned to use it as a time to see if I truly like the fabric, cut, and overall design, and then I will sometimes purchase the items online later that day.
What is your favorite store to shop locally?
Even though I just complained that they sometimes sell out of my size too often, I most enjoy shopping at Lane Bryant locally, especially within the last year. Their styles have been appealing to me more and more, and I can find a lot of items to try out. The women who work there are also incredibly nice and helpful, which makes it even more enjoyable.
What are your top three online stores to shop?
Evans USA: Love the various brands and collection pieces.
ASOS: So many choices for all kinds of styles and sizes.
Gwynnie Bee: It’s not really shopping, but it feels like it!
Your shopping weakness?
Dresses… but really just buying too much.
Fave color:
Merlot red.
Fave trend:
Ankle boots this past fall/winter.
Three things your blog readers might not know about you:
- I was not into fashion during my childhood, teen years, or even college years.
- I am an anglophile and love reading English blogs and watching TV shows and movies from England
- I have three siblings, all of who are in committed relationships. It’s a crowded house during family parties!
